Yes, Shrinky Dinks® use child-safe, non-toxic materials approved for kids ages 5 and up. The plastic sheets are phthalate-free and meet all CPSIA and ASTM safety standards. Adult supervision is still recommended, especially for oven baking.
Our basic kits include 8 sheets of blank shrink plastic, colored pencils or markers, a hole punch, string, baking tray, printable pattern sheets, and instructions. Larger kits may include extra accessories like jump rings, magnet backs, or sticker sheets.
We recommend baking them in a conventional full-size oven. Shrinky Dinks® require sustained heat of 325°F to shrink fully and evenly. Smaller appliances may not maintain the right temperature.
Lay your cut-out shrink art pieces face down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The parchment will keep them flat while they bake. Let them cool completely before handling to hold their shape.
